2013: Ultimate Ascent

  • Definitions:

    • Frisbee: Standard throwing disc
    • Pyramid:
  • Goals:

    • Score frisbees into goals above the ground

    • Climb different height rungs on a pyramid

    • Pick up frisbees off the ground

  • Successful Strategies/Designs

    • Picking up additional frisbees off the ground in auto

    • Driving underneath the pyramid

    • Scoring when in contact with the pyramid (Protected zone)

    • Climbing above the first rung was only worthwhile if it could be done in a few seconds

    • Fullcourt scoring saw limited success. Only one robot on Einstein could fullcourt score

2014: Aerial Assist

  • Definitions:
  • Goals
    • Score large exercise balls into goals above and on the ground
    • Pass the ball between robots
  • Robots
  • Successful Strategies/Designs
    • Complete control over the exercise ball when passing between robots
    • The goal is very wide and had a lot of areas that robots could score from, so being able to score consistently from any available position was extremely valuable

2015: Recycle Rush

  • Goals
    • Stack totes up to 6 high
      • Place Recycling bins on tote stacks
    • Robots
    • Successful Strategies/Designs
      • Elevator that was fast when lifting multiple totes. Numerous teams had elevators that slowed significantly when lifting more than one tote
      • Tote elevator and recycling bin elevator utilized same super structure or mechanism
      • Cycles of 5 tote stacks scored more points than cycles of 6 tote stacks

2016: Stronghold

  • Goals
    • Score dodgeballs into goals above and on the ground
      • Cross obstacles (Called defenses) on the field
      • Climb a bar raised off the ground
    • Robots
    • Successful Strategies/Designs
      • Crossing Defenses with minimal time loss
      • Score from protected zones
      • Score over blockers
      • Human players could roll the gamepieces in such a way that they could pass boulders directly from the human player station to the opposite side of the field

2017: Steamworks

  • Goals
    • Place gears on a peg
      • Score wiffle balls into a goal above the ground
      • Climb a rope
    • Robots

2018: Power Up

  • Goals
    • Place cubes on tilting scales raised above and on the ground
      • Climb a bar raised off the ground
      • Raise alliance members while climbing

2019: Deep Space

      • Climb raised platforms at different heights

2022: Rapid React

  • Goals
    • Score dodgeballs into a goal above the ground

2023: Charged Up

    • Place cones and cubes on spots of various vertical and horizontal positions
      • Balance on a tilting platform

      • Wide open middle section of the field and large protected zones made defense useless
      • Best robots could obtain game pieces from either of the human player areas

2024: Crescendo

  • Definitions
    • Note: Game piece. 14 in foam ring with an orange coating
    • Speaker: 10 foot high with an overhang
    • Amp: Ground level goal. Notes must be scored vertically
    • Amplification: Scoring 2 notes into the amp allows up to 4 notes scored into the speaker to be worth double points for 10 seconds after the human players presses a button

    • Score a foam ring into a goal off the ground
    • Score 2 foam rings vertically into a goal at ground level to gain a bonus
    • Climb a horizontal chain
    • Climb a chain with an additional robot to gain additional points
    • Score a foam ring in a vertical slot above the chain
